CDHEA Members,

The CDHEA annual event is finally here and we are thrilled to present our first ever fall conference. Our three-day event will begin on Friday with Night at the Rounds and the Directors Meeting. Saturday our 6-unit CE program will be led by Mary Ann Sena- Edelen. Her interactive, engaging presentation is titled, "Generations: Navigating Challenging Interactions in Higher Education." Following her presentation, we will have an opportunity to engage with Anthony Lum and Dr. Adina Petty from DHBC.

During our breaks, lunch, and the Welcome Reception we invite you to visit all of our special support from our sponsors. There are many new corporate sponsors here this year. We encourage you to stop by and introduce yourselves. We appreciate their generosity and couldn't offer wonderful weekend CE programs at a reasonable price without them, so please give them your attention.

Sunday will be a 2-unit CE program “Scaling Up Dental Hygiene Education: Establishing a Community College Baccalaureate Program”, presented by Carmen Dones and Aracely Aguiar.

“Fill the Cassette”, for the Pam Hughes Scholarship fund will be taking place on Saturday and Sunday. More information about this NEW fabulous opportunity will be shared on Saturday morning. Bring cash or check written to CDHEA if you did not have theopportunitytocontributethroughCEZoom. Ourstudentsneedsupport opportunities and 100% of the donations go to the student scholarships!

Dear CDHEA Members,

In the 5 years since the passing of Pam Hughes, CDHEA members have stepped up to honor the memory of one of our most inspiring members by generating scholarship funds to pass on to our most inspiring students.

Your schools donated amazing items, you generously purchased raffle tickets, we had fun, and every penny of those funds went out to the students you nominated. Covid-19 squashed our fundraising efforts for a year, and now a new California tax law prohibits our type of fundraising efforts. We would love for the Pam Hughes Award to remain a part of what we do – and we clearly cannot do this without you!

For those who have already made scholarship donations via CE Zoom registration – thank you!!!

For those who were looking forward to purchasing raffle tickets in person, we now hope that you will join us in making donations as we “Fill the Cassette” at our annual meeting this year.

Remember: EVERY PENNY OF YOUR DONATIONS TO THE PAM HUGHES AWARD GO RIGHT BACK TO YOUR STUDENTS.

More details will follow, but we hope you will join us in raising funds for this very worthy cause. The CDHEA Board looks forward to reconnecting with you in person.

Sincerely,

The CDHEA Executive Board Members
